Didelphodon Fossil ToothDescription: Didelphodon was a genus of stagodont "early mammal" marsupials from the Late Cretaceous of North America. This is one of three species from the Hell Creek formation: Didelphodon vorax, D. padanicus, and D. coyi. Importantly, Didelphodon was one of the largest mammals of the Mesozoic Era, somewhat larger than the modern, extant Opossum. Its specialized teeth with blade-like cusps and carnassial notches indicate it was predatory.
