Description: Brachychampsa is an alligator relative that lived 80 to 73 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period. The genus first appeared during the late Cretaceous and went extinct during the early Paleocene a few million years after the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event. Brachychampsa is distinguished by an enlarged fourth maxillary tooth in the upper jaw.
