Asaphellus tataensis TrilobitesDescription: Presented is a positive and negative multi-plate of two well-preserved specimens of Asaphellus tataensis. They both exhibit a burnt orange color are fully inflated and 3D. Generally, the negatives are not available with Moroccan trilobites. Having a good negative in hand can be a guarantee of the authenticity of the specimen. There has been absolutely no enhancement, reconstruction or compositing. Only a bit of crude Moroccan prep work is evident. Both sides were cracked and repaired. This plate represents just about the finest example of a natural unadulterated Moroccan Ordovician Asaphid plate that I have procured. It’s big, heavy, and would make an excellent presentation, ornamental, or display piece.

Please note that the specimen weighs in at a heavy 26 pounds. This will be quite expensive to ship internationally. We will provide a shipping quote to your country if you are interested.

Over the last few years a dizzying array of new Asaphid species from the Dra Valley region have been unearthed in Morocco. Many are still in the process of being studied and classified.
