Dechenella macrocephalus TrilobiteDescription: New York state is one of the world’s most productive areas for Devonian fossils. The northern and western parts of the state are covered with beautiful dark shales loaded with well-preserved fossils. Collectors, in particular, covet the trilobites. Dechenella is hard to find genus, Dechenella macrocephalus is quite rare. This fossil is complete and fully inflated with good detail. It was shattered upon discovery and has been repaired. There is no discernable restoration beyond the re-gluing and cleaning up the surrounding matrix. Not a perfect specimen, but most definitely would make a nice addition to the appropriate collection.
