Nileus Asaphid TrilobitesDescription: Presented is an association plate of six complete Nileus trilobites from Morocco. The plate has the classic look of the typical Ordovician from the Dra Valley region. Gray matrix, with the specimens displaying an oxidized rust orange patina. This one also shows the unfortunate primitive preparation work done by the local Moroccan villagers. It was also broken and re-glued. The specimens themselves are not perfect; every one has some kind of flaw. Obviously, there has been no restoration or reconstruction.

Overall it is an interesting and impressive plate. This genus is represented in many of the European Ordovician formations, represents an index fossil, and signifies its widespread geographic extent.
