Description: Presented is a striking example of the genus Acadoparadoxides from Morocco. This genus is distributed worldwide and is an index fossil for the Lower Cambrian. This is just about the most perfectly preserved Acadoparadoxides I have had the pleasure to acquire. The dealer selling it, Hami, is an independent, well-educated Berber dealer with direct connections to the tribal collectors. He only buys the best of the fossils available, and does much of his own preparation work when necessary. His material is highly coveted by both the commercial dealers and collectors alike. Normally most of his inventory is sold before the actual show begins. The preservation of this specimen is exquisite; note the tightly attached cephalon and pygidium. It’s nicely inflated and incredibly eye-catching. Check out the growth striations on the cephalon and genal spines. These are excellent indicators that the specimen is real, not a reconstruction or fake.
