Goldius Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: A member of the Order Corynexochida, Family Styginidae from the Middle Devonian deposits of Mrakib, Morocco, this is a member of the genus Goldius. The pustulose nature distinguishes it from most other scutellids with the exception of some in the genus Scutellum, and one in the genus Metascutellum (see my other listings for an example). While members of the genus have been known from Europe, none from Morocco have as yet been described. Note the many good facets in each eye.
