Rare Gigoutella antatlasius Cambrian Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: While Morocco is most famous for its Devonian trilobites, its history extends back to near the beginning of trilobite evolution with examples such as this one, a member of the Order Ptychopariida known asRare Gigoutella antatlasius Cambrian Trilobite Gigoutella antatlasius. The species derives its name from the Anti-Atlas Mountains. It is one of the earliest trilobites and is seen here as a part and counterpart specimen. Like many counterparts, this one looks more like a positive. I have labeled the specimens so you can tell which is which. This is the FIRST and ONLY example of this taxon I have seen in 17 years.

Above left is part and right is counterpart.
