Description: This plate displays a fine example of a trilobite found in the Middle Devonian deposits of El Mrakib near Ma’der, Morocco. This taxon has a distinctive pair of cephalic spines, the source of the common name. The pustulose glabella and fine eyestalks are well displayed while the cephalic and axial spines have been prepared free of matrix, a most labor-intensive effort, one I am sure you will agree was worth it. It finally received scientific description in 2014, and is now known as Cyphaspis walteri.
