EoharpesDescription: This Harpid, is presented here in the as-found state - all natural with NO restoration. The brick-red/orange color is typical for material from the Eoharpes cristatus TrilobiteFezouata Formation, and results from oxidation of iron pyrite during diagenesis. The specimen most closely resemples Eoharpes criststus found in Portugal and France. The fine details of the exoskeleton are well preserved with the pitting of the cephalic rim that served as part of the trilobite’s filter-feeding mechanism clearly evident. It is a part/counterpart example with the positive seen on the larger matrix half.
