Foulonia Ordovician Moroccan Trilobite

From the Upper Fezouata Formation

Foulonia sp

Trilobites Order Phacopida, Family Cheiruridae

Geological Time: Lower Ordovician

Size (25.4 mm= 1 inch): Trilobite is 62 mm long by 46 mm wide (with spines) on a 140 mm by 115 mm matrix

Fossil Site: Upper Fezouata Formation, Tanssikhte, Zagora, Morocco

Fossil Code: 16062

Price: $495.00

Description: This is a most dramatic example of the cheirurid trilobite Foulonia. The brick-red color is natural, and contrasts well with the matrix, making for a dramatic display. This one is different from the typical Foulonia seen in that it has longer pygidial spines paired with longer distal pleural spines as well. It is the first such example I have had. I include an in preparation photo so you can see what it looked like in the rough.
