Gastropod FossilI have just recently been able to secure a selection of Early Silurian trilobites from Northeastern Quebec Province, Canada. This is related in that it was collected at the same time. A natural cast of a large gastropod, it is quite 3-D in aspect, and dominates its matrix. Gastropods first emerged in the Cambrian, and the fact that some 65,000 species exist today is testimony to the success of this creature’s mobile home lifestyle.
