Trilobites Mass MortalityDescription: This is a mass mortality plate that I recovered and prepared from the Wheeler Formation that has an amazing 44 trilobites. If you've hunted trilobites in Utah, you'll now such finds are an uncommon occurence. Except for the one Agnostid, all are Ptychopariids, a highly diverse trilobite order that is also highly diverse in the Western United States. The Wheeler Formation also yields Burgess Sahle like soft bodied animals, though not in abundance, and almost never in trilobite layers; most collectors can't even recognize them.
