Maurotarion axitiosum Trilobites Description: Well-preserved example of a member of the Order Proetida, Family Aulacopleuridae, with sweeping genal spines. One of the reasons for the fine preservation is the fact that this trilobite was prepared by Bob Carroll, a world-renowned preparator of Oklahoma Devonian trilobites. As always, his meticulous atterntion to detail is borne out in the preparation of such small specimens. This one is relatively rarely found in the Black Cat Mountain quarry, and is popular with collectors. This example is distinguished by having a pair of these diminutive trilobites. See my other listings for a single example.
