Orgygiocarella debuchiDescription: Well-preserved example of a member of the Order Asaphida, Family Asaphidae, known as Ogygiocarella. First described as a “flatfish” in Egland in 1698, this one was finally recognized as a new type of animal known as a trilobite some 70 years later. The fossil is the largest example I have ever been able to offer. Given most specimens are on the order of 25 mm long, this one is TRIPLE that and more than twice as wide as the average one is long.
