Arkansas Fern FossilsDescription: Most of us are familiar with the beautiful white prophyllite ferns on black matrix from St Clair, Pennsylvania. Much more uncommon are plates like this from more obscure areas of the USA. This plate has three primary specimens, a single Pecopteris, a Pecopteris partial frond and an Annularia. There are a number of other smaller partial fern and plant remains, including what may possibly be a fern seed. All the specimens are beautifully preserved, with excellent contrast and presence.
