Description: The Green River Formation is known for the excellent quality of preservation of its fossils. This leaf is no exception. This is a remarkably detailed example showing the venation quite clearly. The plate is solid and would make a nice display or collection piece. It characteristically has an asymmetrical base, serrated or undulating margins, distinct veins, and a short, stout petiole. Allophyllus is a genus of plants in the family Sapindaceae, members of which still survive today.
