Discoscaphites conradi AmmonitesDescription: During the Cretaceous era much of the interior of the USA was a shallow inland sea where a wide diverse ammonite and scaphite fauna abounded. In particular, the fossilized remains have been beautifully preserved in South Dakota and Montana. This very attractive double specimen reflects the quality and type of preservation to be found. Both specimens are fully complete, and have their white, faintly opalescent, shell fully intact. Both sit in an elegant association on a flat stone base.
