Hemithyrsites Tropical Fossil FishDescription:This is a member of the ray-finned fishes and from the family of fish commonly called snake mackerels. It is well preserved/with good detail of the head, body and most fins. The matrix was cracked and repaired in three places. The Hemithyrsites sp. is only the second I have received from my Polish collector from hundreds of fish from this formation. I would consider this as a rare and very collectable specimen. Note the photo of the collecting locality in Poland.
