Serranus budensis Fish FossilDescription: The Carpathians offer one of the world’s premier collecting sites for Oligocene fossil salt-water fossil fish. This specimen is medium sized, colorful and well articulated. The skull exhibits wonderful detail as well as the fins, and body structure. These predatory fish are ancestral to the modern-day sea basses of the same genus. Note the photo of the collecting locality.
