Calymene barnesi Rare TrilobiteDescription: I have just recently been able to secure a selection of Early Silurian trilobites from Northeastern Quebec Province, Canada. This is another in the series which I will be posting. all of which are quite rare. Seen here is Calymene barnesi, a taxon described in 2004 This is a quite small taxon, typically of the size seen here. It is dwarfed by the associated Brachiopod The matrix is quite hard, and many long hours of preparation were devoted to afford the exceptional specimen you see here. The location is most difficult to access, and few have ever collected there. This one has a flattened side for easy self-display..
