Dimuproetus TrilobiteDescription: Fine example of a member of the Order Proetida with many fine details present. The most diagnostic feature of this taxon is the shield-like rostrum. It is quite similar to Cornuproetus, but this feature is enough to see it is not the same (see my other offerings) . Notice the fine eye facets present in this example. The Proetidae were among the last of the trilobites to go extinct in the Permian over 100 million years later. This is a fine example of the type, prepared in the classic “flying” pose. Looking like some sort of Devonian Stealth Bomber, it makes a most impressive display.
