Description: A member of the Order Corynexochida, Family Thysanopeltidae from the Middle Devonian deposits of Alnif, Morocco, this is Thysanopeltis speciosa. It is distinguished by the fringing pygidial spines from Scabriscutellum, and from Scutellum by the ribbing of the pygidium. What makes this one distinctive is the fringing spines of the pygidium, something seen in only one other trilobite from the region. For an example of this distinctive specimen after 35 hours of preparation seen my other offerings.
