Leonaspis Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: While some prefer Kettnersapis over Leonaspis based upon the pygidial spines, I think the jury is out at present. Whatever the genus, it is definitely a highly desirable species that has curried great favor among the collectors of the world for some time. It is quite similar in morphology to the examples of Kettneraspis wiliamsi from the contemporaneous deposits of Oklahoma (see my offerings for some spectacular ones prepared by the best in the business: Bob Carroll). Since the two locations were far closer in the Devonian, that is not an unexpected result. Indeed, the are several other trilobites with parallels in Oklahoma.
