MrakbinaDescription: Elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Subfamily Asteropyginae with dramatic genal and pygidial spines. The Asteropyginae have recently undergone extensive revision, with this example previously called Neometacanthus, an allusion to its similarity to Metacanthina (now called Hollardops). This is a good prone example of the type, reminiscent more of a stealth bomber than a trilobite. Notice the excellent eye facets, particularly those of the right eye.
