Asaphellus zagoraensis Morocco TrilobiteDescription: Here is one of the more uncommon trilobites of Morocco: Asaphellus zagoraensis of the Order Asaphida, Family Asaphidae. The Asaphidae are not common representatives of the Moroccan Trilobita. This one is exceptionally 3-D for an Ordovician trilobite, and would make a good addition to a collection of the region’s trilobite diversity. This one comes to you just as found in the field, having been cracked open to reveal the trilobite entombed within. The diggers term a specimen like this “trilobite in coffin”.
