Pseudocryphaeus Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: Elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Subfamily Asteropyginae with many fine details present. Notice the fine eye facets present on this specimen. The Asteropyginae recently have undergone revision. This one is reminiscent of the trilobite called “Minicryphaeus” sp in the fossil trade, a genus erected to hold several small trilobites with a foreshortened rostrum that were previously considered Pseudocryphaeus. For the sake of discussion , let us leave this one a a member of that taxon. Whatever it is called, it is quite an eye-catching specimen, seen here preserved in a contraflexed pose.
