Saharops bensaidiDescription: An uncommon trilobite, this one is known as Saharops bensaidi and comes from the Devonian of Morocco. When I first saw this one I thought it might be a different species as very few show the axial spines seen here. With the advent of a more reliable supply of electricity, preparation in Morocco has improved dramatically in recent years allowing for the preparation of OVER FIFTY axial spines as seen here. The eye facets are excellent, further testimony to the exceptional preservation of this fine specimen.
