Phacops araw Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: An elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Family Phacopidae with many fine details present. Notice the fine eye facets present on this specimen. This specimen has been named Phacops araw by Chatterton et al, with the species name derived from the Berber word for ogre, a reference to the calloused appearance of the glabella as well as its thick cuticl. It is the first such specimen I have been able to secure, and is one prepared in Europe rather than on site it Morocco.
