Greenops barberiDescription: Elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Subfamily Asteropyginae with dramatic genal and pygidial spines. The Asteropyginae have recently undergone extensive revision, with several members of the genus now placed in the recently-erected genera Bellacartwrightia and Kennacryphaeus. Most are usually found as disarticulated specimens, but this one is quite complete, with fine eye facets . It has been preserved enrolled, so the preoarator has presented it with only the tips of the genal spines and a small section near the back of the cephalon still encased in matrix. Is self-displays on its flattened matrix base to allow for view from any aspect. For a prone example with preserved color pattern please see my other offerings.
