Monodechenella macrocephalaDescription: The Proetida have the distinction of being the longest-lived order of trilobites They arose during the Early Ordovician and persisted until the end-Permian Great Dying. This one is known as Monodechenella macrocephala, and is a close relative of Pseudidechenella (see my other offerings). Partial examples are far more common than one such as this which is only slightly distorted on the left genal. Note the axial nodes, a feature only rarely preserved in such detail. See my other offerings for an exceptionally large partial example.
