Cedaria NorwoodiaDescription: The complete trilobite is a member of the family Cedariidae known as Cedaria minor. It is a fine, well-inflated example with tightly-attached genals that would make a fine addition to any trilobite collection. What makes this a most unusual specimen is the second, partial trilobite known as Norwoodia bellaspina, a highly-prized specimen whose genus name fittingly means beautiful spine. It also has many similarities to another rare trilobite, “Gerospina schachti “ (se my other offerings), but that may be more a result of evolutionary convergence than anything else. Whatever its affinities, it is a most rare trilobite, offered here in this association plaque at an unheard-of price. As a final kicker, there is a partial Agnostid present as well. I do not expect this one to stick around for long, so be forewarned.
