Description: Well-preserved example of members of the Order Asaphida, Family Trinucleidae. The cephalic pits (fenestrae) are evident, the means by which this trilobite filtered detritus from the seafloor. The trilobite presumably hovered at the seafloor, using its legs to kick up particulates that then passed through the cephalic ring. Overall, a pair of examples of the taxon, rarely offered with this degree of preservation. There are also several partial examples, making for a fine death assemblage of this infrequently offered trilobite.
