LonchodomasDescription: Example of members of the Order Asaphida, Family Raphiophoridae, this one is Lonchodomas suriensis. When complete, they possessed short genal and rostral spines, a feature shared with Ampyx, Cnemidopyge, and several other trinucleids. These are seen with a Graptolite as well. Trilobites from Argentina are not easy to obtain, as the country has banned sale of fossils. These were obtained from an old collection, and are unlikely to be replaced. The Raphiophoridae were true “survivors’, being the only trinucleoids to survive into the Silurian.
