Description: Here is a nice trilobite: A member of the Order Proetida, Family Brachymetopidae from the Devonian Haragan Formation deposits of Coal County, Oklahoma. It is Cordania falcata, and is 20 mm long and 15 mm across at the genal spines. It is quite 3-D in preservation, and displays well with the fine detail adding to the overall great preservation. This one was prepared by Bob Carroll of Black Cat Mountain Trilobites of Clarita Oklahoma, well-known as the premier preparator of the diverse examples of the Devonian seas of Oklahoma whose prep work is sought by collectors world wide. Few examples of this taxon are found annually (Bob only had two to offer in Tucson this year, and I was fortunate to obtain this fine example of his work).
