Altiocculus harrisiDescription: A fine articulated example of Altiocculus harrisi, one of the most sought after of Wheeler trilobites. These trilobites are often found with disarticulated or missing free cheeks, so this one is attractive for both its size and degree of preservation. There is evidence of missing pleural tips to the right side that are likely to be the result of predation. The lack of much remodeling may be indicative of cause of death, as is the case with other trilobites from the region. This one is what is colloquially termed a “popoff” with little attendant matrix outside the body outlines. .
