Neltneria jacqueti Early Cambrian Fallotaspid TrilobiteDescription: This plate displays a fine example of a member of the order Redlichiida known as Neltneria jacqueti. Coming from the Issafen Formation deposits of Morocco, it is firmly placed in the Early Cambrian. Recent interest in Issafen trilobites has led to increased digging in the region, with stunning specimens such as this the result. It is rarely seen, unlike its cogeneric Neltneria termieri. It is the first I have been able to offer, so I do not know if all examples are small. Note two associated cephala on this part/counterpart example of which the positive is seen on the larger side.
