Green River Bird Feather FossilThe Green River Formation deposits of Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah are best known for their immaculately-preserved fish, but other examples are known as well, as this specimen attests. This is an example of a feather from an unknown bird. The basal part is quite dark, while the balance is more faint, but I do not think this is a case of preserved coloration.
