Rare Alaskan Stromatolite

This stromatolite, besides being particularly beautiful, is mysterious as to origin and age. It is cut and polished from material that occasionally washes ashore and is collected by the Inuit Indians in Alaska. Archean? Proterozoic? Phanerozoic? Can't say.
