Metasequoia (Dawn Redwood) Plant FossilThis is a very pretty single leaf fossil from Cache Creek in British Columbia. It is from a Metasequoia, or Dawn Redwood (Family: Taxodiaceae - a Conifer that unlike the predominant evergreen Conifers was actually deciduous). The 5-inch leaf is about as large as they come. This is a showy fossil plate.
