Heliopyge Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: A rarely seen trilobite, this is Heliopyge from the Devonian of Morocco. Most species are found in the Devonian of France, Belgium, and Iran. In nine years of traveling to Tucson, this is only the third example I have seen and the first I have been able to secure. It is well-inflated, and quite 3-D in appearance. Note the excellent preservation of the eye facets on this fine specimen.
