RARE Chasmops praecurrens Russian Trilobite

Coming from the Middle Ordovician Asery Level deposits of the Wolchow River region near Saint Petersburg, Russia, this is an example of the trilobite Chasmops praecurrens. The trilobite itself is 1.9 inches long (measured along the curve) and 1.3 inches wide at the elongated genal spines. Only a literal handful are found annually, and they always command a high price. Its caramel-colored Calcite shell is well set off by the white limestone matrix. As always, the skillful Russian preparators have shown this fine specimen to best advantage, well-positioned on its 4.3 inch by 4.5 inch matrix, with the characteristic glabellar pustules quite evident.
