Pseudobaselicus lawrowiDescription: Coming from the Middle Ordovician Upper Asery Level deposits near Saint Petersburg, Russia, this is an infrequently-offered trilobite known as Pseudobasilicus (formerly Basilicus) lawrowi, betrayed as such by the genal and pleural spines. This trilobite is rarely offered, and would make a key acquisition to any collection.. The caramel-colored Calcite shell is quite evidently in a good state of preservation, with the trilobite dominating the parallelogram-shape bed of limestone matrix..Its low profile probably allowed it to escape detection by both predator and prey alike as it sat on the sea floor.
