RusophycusDescription: I have just recently been able to secure a selection of Early Silurian trilobites from Northeastern Quebec Province, Canada. This is related in that it is an example of Rusophycus, thought to be the resting place of a trilobite. This one is a natural cast, and preserves the basic outlines of the trilobite that made it, complete with marks made by the limbs. Examples of Rusophycus are known all the way back to the Cambrian, and examples from the Triassic indicate that other arthropods that survived the great extinction (and)the end of the Permian produced these ichofossils as well.
