Colorful Tooth from Snaggletooth Shark Hemipristus

Description: This is a fine example of a tooth from the extinct “Snaggletooth Shark” Hemipristus serra. The specific name is easy to discern. Given the sharp serrations, this is a tooth from the upper jaw (lower jaw teeth were not serrated). Teeth are highly variable in color, a consequence of the minerals in the water that formed the deposits. This one has a most pleasing gray coloration. This one comes in a Riker-type display box, making it a fine presentation specimen.
