Fossil PhoronidDescription: I have no idea what this enigmatic creature might be—in view of its resemblance to the spindle with skewers used to hold sweet corn, it has been colloquially termed the “corn cob holder”. The spikes at the end (which end, front or back?) are quite evident. Some think it resembles the Phoronid Iotuba chengjiangesis from the Chengjiang Biota of China. The Phoronids are commonly known as horseshoe worms. The Weeks Formation, one of the world's Burgess Shale-like Lagetstatten, continues to provide an astonishing diversity of problematic forms!.
