Description: An absolutely enormous example of a lobster of the genus Palinurus, measuring 155 mm, possessing 105 mm long antennae. It is extremely rare to find such a large example of this Cenomanian Stage (93-97 m.y.a.) ancestor of the modern-day spiny lobster. The chitinous exoskeleton is typically rapidly destroyed, making articulated examples like this quite rare. There is a repaired crack to the matrix, but that in no way detracts from the specimen. It is found in association with a 30 mm unidentified herring-like fish.
