Description: Well-preserved examples of a Inadunate crinoid Poteriocrinites verus (Family Poteriocrinitidae), while the other is an example of the Flexible crinoid Forbesiocrinus multibranchiatus (Family Synerocrinidae). The first member of the genus Poteriocrinites is found in Lower Devonian deposits of Europe, while some specimens attributed to the genus come from the Permian, making this a long-lived taxon, indeed. The Subclass Flexibilia gets its name from the general flexible appearance of the crown (this one looks somewhat like a clenched fist). Both of the crinoids are very three-dimensional in aspect. This is a fine example of the variety of diverse crinoids to be found in the Crawfordsville deposits.
