Description: This fine ammonite is a Orthosphinctes from Germany, free of matrix, which has some of the natural shell present. The lack of acidity in the depositional environment allowed them to be preserved as you see it here.. Note the delicate ribbing of the shell. This is a good example of an ammonite from the late Jurassic deposits of Germany, one that is sure to be an integral part of any ammonite collection.
