Description: A spectacular ammonite from Morocco which has been polished which shows wonderful detail within. Most of the individual chambers are filled with rich caramel and rose -colored Calcite crystals, with the septa (divisions) between each chamber preserved as beige Calcite, making for a superb display piece. The complex suture pattern is called Ammonitic, as distinguished from the more simple Ceratitic and Goniatitic patterns. It has been drilled to accept a metal rod to allow it to be pivoted on its Calcite base while positioned in its life attitude, so as to be observed from any angle. This is a fine example of an ammonite from the Cretaceous deposits of Morocco, one that is sure to be a fine addition to any ammonite collection.
